This is just a few commands I use from time to time and you might find useful :)

# remove white space from file names
for files in *; do mv "$files" `echo $files | tr ' ' '_'`; done

These two are quite handy when for example I need to paste my ssh key in a website (and I can't just send it)

# clear clipboard and X selection
xclip -selection primary -i blank

# add stuff to clipboard
xclip -sel clip < ~/.ssh/

Often I need to sort files by their size, for that I use this little thing :)

# sort files by their size in reverse
du -sm * | sort -nr

And lastly (for now), I don't like the idea of automount on my personal computer. Mounting devices isn't difficult, so I prefer to do it manually, therefore:

# stop automount
systemctl stop udisks2
systemctl mask udisks2
